Airport Noise Advisory

On Saturday evening, January 28th, 2012, the Terminal Area Radar and Approach Control (TRACON), which is responsible for controlling aircraft once they are in the air and off airport property, will be offline.  As a result, departing aircraft will be controlled by the Jacksonville Center Control Facility.  Radar coverage will be limited beyond the southern border of the airport. Therefore if the airport is in a southern operational flow, the aircraft will be required to turn to the east sooner resulting in some over-flights over a number of the Lake Nona communities.  This operation will be limited to only the evening of January 28th and will only take place if the airport is in a southern operational configuration.

Questions concerning Airport Noise should be directed to the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority’s Noise Abatement Officer at 407-825-2003 or email
