Airport Noise Advisory

Attention Communities Surrounding Orlando Executive Airport:

The National Business Aviation Association, (NBAA), is holding its 2008 convention at the Orange County Convention Center and Orlando Executive Airport on October 6th, 7th, and 8th. As one of the nation’s largest tradeshows, with over 1,000 exhibitors and over 30,000 attendees expected, Orlando Executive Airport, (OEA), will experience a significant increase in air traffic beginning Saturday, October 4th and continuing through Thursday October 9th. General Aviation and Corporate aircraft ranging from a two-seat single engine piston to large corporate aircraft, (e.g. Boeing Business Jet and the Airbus A319), are anticipated to use OEA.

In addition to serving as an arrival and departure point for attendees and exhibitors, OEA, is the venue for aircraft static displays, (more than 100 aircraft). A small number of aircraft flying demonstrations or, “fly-by’s” are planned under the strict guidance of FAA Air Traffic Control, (ATC). A limited number of helicopter shuttles between the Convention Center and OEA are expected; however most attendees will be shuttled via chartered buses.

Peak arrivals are expected between Saturday and Sunday, (October 4th and 5th). The peak departure volume is expected on Wednesday afternoon, (October 8th), after 3:00PM. Weather permitting; arrival flow to Runway 7 will be from the west; while the departure peak will also depart on Runway 7 to the east.

To the greatest extent possible, all established noise abatement procedures will be adhered to, given weather and ATC operational considerations.
